the letter from this Dept. of 11th ult. no. 103 of 12th ult. my despatch.
"I am directed by Chamberlain
to inform you that M. I. Roberts no longer wishes to be appointed to the Hongkong Police, this proposed appointment is accordingly cancelled.
It will therefore be necessary
to select Constables for Hongkong, instead of two, as proposed in the letter from this dept. my despatch of the 14th ultimo. no. 106
Any 25%
The Agents have therefore been informed that it will be necessary to select three men for Hongkong.
